Schoolcraft Connection Newspaper

If you would like to submit a letter to the editor, just e-mail the letter to sceditor@schoolcraft.edu or mail it to The Schoolcraft Connection, 18600 Haggerty Rd., Livonia, MI 48152-2696. Letters to the Editor are welcomed and will be pritned as written except in the case of obscenities, libelous information or personal attack. We reserve the right to edit for length. Letters must be signed to be considered for publication, thoguh names may be withheld at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

The first step is filling out an application. We usually have a few editing positions open up at the start of each year, but unfortunately we usually get more applications than positions available. Candidates are interviewed in May and June for the following school year. Extensive work at a student newspaper, either at the Connection or another student newspaper, is required. Applications are available in the Student Activities Office; those called back for an interview should bring a portfolio of printed work and other accomplishments related to student journalism.

It's easy! Meetings are held Mondays at 4 p.m. in the Waterman Conference room. Either show up at a meeting, or send an e-mail to the editor at sceditor@schoolcraft.edu for more information.
Anyone interested in writing, photography, graphic design or cartooning is welcome to participate on a freelance basis. Those who have their work printed in the newspaper are compensated for their contributions.
